The Challenge

Starting from zero

Endurance in Education was preparing to launch a capital campaign — but starting from zero. No public visibility in the community, no established donor relationships, no prior fundraising events to build on.

The kickoff event needed to do two things at once: introduce the organization to the community and lay a real financial and relational foundation for the campaign ahead. All within a one-month planning window, funded entirely by the event's own revenue — no upfront budget to work with.

The Approach

One event, triple duty

Girlhood Collective built the Better Together Brunch Fundraiser as a single event designed to do triple duty: community introduction, fundraiser, and relationship-building platform for the campaign's future.

Designed a brunch-and-panel format that gave the organization's mission a public stage, pairing five panelists with its story to build credibility and connection with first-time attendees.

Built sponsor relationships from scratch, securing 10 event sponsors in a community where the organization had zero prior name recognition.

Managed the full budget from anticipated event revenue, sequencing vendor commitments, ticket sales, and sponsor confirmations tightly within the one-month timeline.

Used the event as a pipeline, not a one-off — turning the day's momentum into a secured sponsorship for the organization's future gala.

The Results

Every goal, met

The brunch met every goal it was built for: it introduced Endurance in Education to its community, funded itself, turned a profit for the mission, and left the organization with a stronger network than it started with.

$3,000 in total revenue generated from a standing start with no existing donor base.

$1,000 donated directly to Endurance in Education — a 33% direct-give rate, notably high for a first-time event carrying its own budget.

10 sponsors secured, establishing new brand relationships in the community for this event and beyond.

1 future gala sponsor locked in, extending the event's impact well past a single day.

30 guests engaged directly with the organization's mission through 5 featured panelists.

All delivered in a one-month planning window, funded entirely by the event's own revenue.

Why It Matters

Hard to manufacture

This kind of result is hard to manufacture. It takes planning an event end-to-end under real time and budget constraints, building community trust and sponsor relationships from nothing, and turning a single day into lasting connections.

For an organization facing its own "zero awareness" starting line, that combination — visibility, revenue, and relationships, all in one month — is exactly the outcome Girlhood Collective is built to deliver.

Girlhood Collective helps organizations strengthen connection, engagement, and belonging through thoughtful community strategy and facilitated experiences.
